For an additional cost on most items, we will pick up the following items from your house:

  • Large furniture and appliances (including ones with CFCs)
  • Electronic waste (TVs, computers, tablets, laptops, monitors)
  • CFL bulbs
  • Household batteries
  • Foam blocks
  • Used cooking and motor oil

Recycling and Compost Giveaway Events

Have stuff to recycle that doesn't go in your cart? Bring it to a Recycling & Reuse Collection event! We host six events a year to collect items for recycling and reuse that can't go in your home recycle carts or dumpsters. Events are free and open to all Seattle residents.

2022 Recycling & Reuse Collection Events

We're excited to be able to safely offer these events in 2022. Masks and maintaining social distancing when dropping off materials at the event are required.

  • Foam blocks
  • Household batteries (no damaged batteries)
  • Florescent tubes and bulbs (no broken bulbs, limit: 4 ft.)
  • Small, empty propane camping canisters
  • Small electronics (TVs, computers, etc.)
  • Small appliances (non-freon) 
  • Paper for shredding (limit: 4 boxes of paper)
  • Household textiles - clothing & curtains

Items not accepted:

  • Commercial loads
  • Furniture or household goods
  • Garbage
  • Yard waste
  • Household recycling (items that go in your cart/dumpster)
  • Hazardous waste
  • Automotive waste
  • Construction waste
  • Non-recyclable or reusable items
  • Car seats 
  • Mattresses

 

Free Compost Giveaway Events

We are glad to provide free bulk compost at community events in 2022.  Masks and maintaining social distancing when picking up compost are required.

These events provide up to ½ yard of bulk compost to Seattle residents as a thank you for composting your food and yard waste, and to close the loop, by providing soil nutrients through finished compost. 

Please bring a shovel and container to load up your compost.
