River Restoration
As part of the ecosystem-based approach of the HCP, river restoration activities are designed to provide more natural stream channel conditions both within and outside of the Cedar River Municipal River Watershed. The program is designed to prioritize the protection of the best remaining habitat and increase river habitat complexity and connectivity. So far, the City has purchased and/or restored many acres of habitat on the Cedar River below Landsburg under the HCP and completed substantial stream restoration in the Municipal Watershed.
