Safe Routes to School: Ashworth Ave N
Updated March 16, 2021
Project Overview
Safe Routes to School is a national movement to make it easier and safer for students to walk and bike to school. We're making several improvements across Seattle to calm traffic, increase visibility, and reduce the crossing distance at intersections.
Last fall, SDOT's Safe Routes to School program built a walkway on the west side of Ashworth Ave N between N 135th St and N 137th St. This project included new asphalt walkways and planting strips, curb ramp upgrades, an upgraded speed hump, and updated signage. Through these improvements, we're working to improve walkability and help kids get to Ingraham High School safely.
