N 130th St and Ashworth Ave N Safety Enhancements

Thank you to all who participated in the community prioritization process for this Neighborhood Street Fund project! We completed this community-requested project in 2023!

Ingraham High School students using the new signal at N 130th St and Ashworth Ave N. 

Project Overview

N 130th St is busy arterial located just south of Ingraham High School. Many students cross N 130th St at Ashworth Ave N to access a bus stop or walk or bike from the surrounding neighborhood. The project will build a new full signal at the intersection, new curb ramps, new crosswalks, and a new sidewalk on the south leg of the intersection. This project will be coordinated with planned improvements on N 130th St including paving, redesigning the road from four to three lanes, and adding bike lanes. The new signal will also support a future neighborhood greenway on Ashworth Ave N.

Project Background

This is one of nine Neighborhood Street Fund projects requested by community and selected by the Levy to Move Seattle Oversight Committee. Neighborhood Street Fund is a city program, running on 3-year cycles, that enables neighbors to propose and help prioritize transportation-related projects that are then built by the Seattle Department of Transportation (SDOT).
