Project Overview
The Little Brook neighborhood, in the Lake City community, is a populated and diverse neighborhood. The Little Brook Neighborhood Greenway will provide a safer connection for people walking and biking to nearby menities. The planned neighborhood greenway connects residents to local schools, parks, and businesses as well as the citywide transportation network. The new neighborhood greenway will connect affordable, active transportation options for people of all ages and abilities.
What's a Neighborhood Greenway?
Neighborhood greenways are safer, calmer residential streets for you, your family, and neighbors. We make people walking and biking the priority.
Neighborhood greenways can include:
- Pedestrian walkway
- 20 mph speed limit signs
- speed humps to calm traffic
- stop signs for side streets crossing the neighborhood greenway
- signs and pavement markings to help people find their way
- easier crossings of busy streets with crosswalks, flashing beacons, or traffic signals
LITTLE BROOK MURAL PROJECT
We have completed the installation of a street mural on the intersection of NE 140th St and 32nd Ave NE St. The street mural was designed by Seattle artist, Romel Belleza (Ilocano, Tlingit & Dishchii Bikoh N’Dee) and was installed in partnership with the Seattle Department of Transportation and Lake City Collective to honor Native culture and welcome people to the Little Brook neighborhood. To learn more about the mural and to get more updates on the Little Brook Healthy Street.
