2015 Seattle Transportation Levy (Levy to Move Seattle)
Updated: January 2025
Background
The 9-year, $930 million 2015 Seattle Transportation Levy (Levy to Move Seattle) provided funding to improve safety for all travelers, maintain our streets and bridges, and invest in reliable, affordable travel options for a growing city. This levy was approved by voters in November 2015 and expired December 31, 2024.
The levy provided roughly 30% of the City's transportation budget and replaced the 9-year, $365 million 2006 Seattle Transportation Levy (Bridging the Gap).
The levy aimed to take care of the basics, while also investing in the future with improvements to move more people and goods in and around a growing Seattle.

2015 Seattle Transportation Levy Oversight Committee (LOC)
A Levy Oversight Committee (LOC) made up of 16 Seattle residents, appointed by the Mayor and City Council, monitored 2015 Seattle Transportation Levy (Levy to Move Seattle) expenses and revenues, reviewed program and project priorities, and made recommendations to the Mayor and City Council on how to spend levy proceeds.
The 2015 Seattle Transportation Levy Oversight Committee (LOC) held their final meeting on Tuesday, December 3, 2024.
We thank the LOC for their service to the City of Seattle. The LOC has been key to ensuring 2015 Seattle Transportation Levy spending was transparent, accountable, and aligned with commitments to voters made in 2015 Levy to Move Seattle Ordinance.
