Who offers home internet service for low-income residents in Seattle?

These companies offer low-cost, high-speed Internet in Seattle, all for approximately $10 a month. With help from these programs, you can search for jobs, do your homework, pay your bills, check your email, watch short video clips, download music, and much more. You can also purchase laptops, desktop computers and tablets starting at $109, and qualify for a discounted smart phone plan as well.

PCs for People

PCs for People provides unlimited mobile internet service through the Sprint LTE service (up to 150 Mbps) that can share WiFi with more than one computer or other WiFI enabled device at a time.

  • Service is $15.00 per month
  • A potential recipient must be below the 200% poverty level or be currently enrolled in an income-based government assistance program.
  • Refurbished laptops are available from approximately $130 and desktop computers for less, depending upon stock availability.  Shipping is free.

Atlas Networks

(206) 395-7222 or Atlas Networks Atlas Networks offers low-income internet service in several apartment buildings around Seattle, including housing in Pike Place Market. For buildings with low-income units, Atlas offers these high-quality, dependable internet service options to residents.

  • $14.99/month - 10/10 Mbps

  • Free installation
  • Internet modem rental from Atlas is $6.00/month. Rental comes with unlimited internet service support.
  • You can also use your own internet modem.
  • Must live in a building where Atlas is available. Check Atlas's 'building finder' to see if your building has service.

human-I-T has implemented programs geared toward enabling technology ownership and internet connectivity in underserved communities.

Low-cost internet program: Program partners include Frontier Communications, Spectrum, Mobile Citizen, and the California Emerging Technology Fund (CETF).

Eligibility: Interested households must be able to provide the required low-income proof for the provider of their choice in order to qualify. 

  • Low-income: Households qualify based on proof of being part of other assistance programs, such as Public Housing Assistance or Section 8 voucher, free school lunches, SSI (Supplemental Security Income) or other government assistance.
  • ‍Veterans: Any veteran with form DD-214 may apply.
  • ‍Disabled Individuals: Any individuals receiving Social Security or Supplemental Security Income disability assistance.
  • ‍Charitable organizations: IRS designated charities and not-for-profit schools.
