About Us
The primary function of park rangers is to support positive use of our parks, to educate and assist park users and to seek voluntary compliance with laws and Park Code Seattle Municipal Code 18.12. They can issue warnings, citations and parks trespass warnings. They can be called on to address repeated Park Code violations or minor infractions, and will respond when available.
The Park Rangers have limited authority, are not sworn law enforcement officers, and are not armed. Call 9-1-1 for Police or Fire response when there is a public safety emergency.
