Soundview Playfield Athletic Field Renovation

Updated: January 9, 2025

Early 2025

Seattle Parks and Recreation is happy to announce this project has been put out to public bid with bid opening on Feb. 5.  We anticipate construction beginning in late spring 2025. In the summer of 2020, the City of Seattle turned its focus to essential functions to address the pandemic and economic crisis, which required a significant reprioritization of resources. Seattle Parks and Recreation (SPR) suspended some capital project work including this project. In 2023, we started moving this project forward, however, because of budget constraints at SPR the project was again put on hold.

This project is a conversion of an existing natural turf playfield to an all-season multi-sport synthetic turf playfield with lights and associated accessible pathways and park amenities.
