Planning is underway for Hutchinson Playground Renovations!

Please provide your input on the three Design Options! 

The first Community Design Meeting was held Thursday, August 3, 2023. 
Thank you to everyone who attended and provided input. At the meeting the design team shared results from our community survey, a site analysis, potential play area styles and park design options. A recording of the informational presentation from the meeting is available here on our community engagement page for the Hutchinson Playground Renovation project.

The next meeting will be held this fall, where we will present the preferred design. You will have the opportunity to provide design details such as playground equipment, site furnishings and other detailed park elements.

Budget

The Seattle Park District is providing $4,105,000 for this renovation.

Project Description

Hutchinson Playground will undergo a complete park renovation. This project includes a new play area renovation for ages two and up, resurfaced sport courts, basketball court reconstruction, playfield repair, enhanced natural areas, and pathway, entrance, and other related improvements to meet accessibility standards and improve safety.  

Anticipated Site Impact: The playground will be closed in 2025. Specific dates will be provided when we are closer to construction.
