Creative Occupations
Investing in creative skills and media arts workforce skills training is important to the City of Seattle. In 2019, the Office of Economic Development and the Office of Arts and Culture put out a Creative Economy Report. The report stated that the creative sector drives 18 percent of Seattle’s GDP, which is four times the national average, and Seattle's creative industries total nearly 70,000 creative workers. These workers, particularly those in the arts, culture, film, music, and nightlife, are not only essential to Seattle's identity and what makes this region special, but also powerful economic drivers. Creative occupations include, but are not limited to, live event production, graphic design, and music production.
