Many people want to get their hands in the soil quickly, so watch the following groups for opportunities while you wait for a P-Patch plot.

Black Farmers Collective is a distributed network of cutting-edge black farmers and growers throughout the greater Seattle area.  

• Yes Farm is a new urban farm in the Yesler neighborhood of Seattle. This is a partnership between Seattle Housing Authority who holds the use permit from WADOT and the Black Farmers Collective who are developing and running a cooperative urban farm with the goal of providing food, education, and community building in the neighborhood and the surrounding communities.
• Nurturing Roots is a community farming program focused on educating youth & community members on healthy food choices. Creating community through gardening 

Solid Ground Volunteering program operates an urban farm in South Park Seattle.

Seattle Community Farm is now being managed by Asian Counseling and Referral Services (ACRS). The farm produces healthy, locally-sourced food for those experiencing hunger. They're looking for caring individuals who can consistently lend a hand! Tasks can include preparing the garden beds for Spring, weeding, tilling, planting, providing light maintenance to the farm facility and harvesting.

Beacon Food Forest (BFF) is under the Department of Neighborhoods, P-Patch Program management, we work with the community on a different model of community garden.  Anyone is welcome to get involved at anytime.  Contact the community at BFF through their website to get involved.

Tilth Alliance works to build an ecologically sound, economically viable and socially equitable food system. 

Alleycat Acres a program of The Common Acre, is an urban farm collective that "transforms vacant spaces to create a network of sustainable urban farms that reconnect people to food while helping to increase food security on a community level."

City Fruit works neighborhood by neighborhood to help residential fruit tree owners grow healthy fruit to harvest and use what they can and to share what they don't need.

Seattle Department of Transportation allows gardening on planting strips with a simple permit.

UW Farm is a registered student organization and always welcomes help and community involvement.
