About Human Services
The Seattle Human Services Department (HSD) is one of the largest contributors to Seattle's safety net. We advance our Vision and Mission by investing hundreds of millions of dollars in contracts to more than 200 community-based organizations and programs that support strong and healthy communities.

- 36,145 Utility Discount Program (UDP) customers enrolled—8,353 new to the program in 2023
- 485,806 home-delivered meals served to 2,309 individuals
- 326,728 dental and/or medical visits provided to low-income and vulnerable populations
- 295 youth participated in paid opportunities through the Seattle Youth Employment Program
- 7,294 survivors received domestic violence, sexual assault, and/or gender-based violence services
- 21,037 people contacted Community Living Connections
