We educate and engage through energy solutions and community events.
We empower our customers with tools and programs to help meet their energy needs, however they choose.
For homeowners, renters and businesses of all sizes and industries, we provide energy solutions that help customers save energy, money, and the environment.
We also show up in the community through events and outreach, keeping customers informed, answering questions and letting them know what we do on their behalf as their local, not-for-profit utility.
We celebrate public power through tours of our facilities and educational partnerships.
We provide behind-the-scenes looks at how clean, affordable power is generated, as well as recreational opportunities to explore and enjoy the natural beauty of the area.
Take a virtual tour of Denny Substation, the "world’s coolest substation," an innovative facility built in the middle of a dense, diverse neighborhood and designed for public artwork, community spaces and environmental sustainability.
We're proud to support the North Cascades Institute and Environmental Learning Center in connecting people, nature and community through study of the natural and cultural history of the Pacific Northwest.
We empower students through our educational workshops.
Energy Heroes
Our Energy Heroes program offers free educational workshops and classroom presentations for teachers and students in grades 1-12 across our service area.
Our workshops reinforce school science curriculum with topics ranging from electrical safety, energy conservation, and renewable energy to hydropower systems, electrification, and social and climate justice.
STEAM in Power
Since 2018, City Light has partnered with SPIN Girls, a community program that connects young women of color to immersive STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math) experiences.
During our interactive workshop, students learn how the utility works, build electrical circuits, take a facility tour and meet with women from across City Light working in a diversity of STEAM fields.
