Project Description
Seattle City Light crews will be installing an underground duct bank on Marion Street, between Alaskan Way and Western Avenue. The existing duct bank is damaged and emergency repairs are needed to maintain electrical reliability and safety.

Community Benefits
- This work is needed to maintain reliability for the downtown electrical system.
Anticipated Impacts
- Crews will be installing the duct bank along the northern sidewalk on Marion Street and within the Marion Street and Western Avenue intersection. Some noise is expected from construction activities.
- Maintenance power outages are required to do the work safely. Affected customers will be notified in advance of any planned outage.
- Customers can expect temporary parking, sidewalk and traffic restrictions along Marion Street and Western Avenue.
- Access to the Maritime Building will be temporarily blocked off during portions of this work. A City Light representative will coordinate with building management during this work.
- Flaggers and uniformed police officers will direct traffic through the work zone.
- Some parking will be taken up within the construction work area for equipment storage and truck parking.
- Construction Start: Due to permitting delays, construction is scheduled to start in mid-to-late January 2021
- Duration: 8-12 weeks
- Daily Work Schedule: Mon-Fri, 8 a.m.-5 p.m. with some weekend work
