This web site is a Seattle Department of Transportation pilot project designed to serve the Seattle area by providing access to live webcam images focused on city arterials and intersections. We welcome your feedback and appreciate your patience as we fine tune this exciting new commute tool.
SDOT operations staff use the cameras to monitor traffic conditions at these locations. The cameras may be repositioned to view traffic from varying directions. You may see different views if you visit a camera location at different times. Each camera image will include a note saying which direction the camera is pointed.
At times, cameras may be out of service because of construction, weather conditions, or mechanical or electrical failure. Note the time stamp on the most recent image to see if the camera is up and running. Malfunctioning cameras will be restored to service as soon as possible. Should that happen, we apologize for any inconvenience.
The City of Seattle does not archive or retain any of the images from the traffic cameras. The City of Seattle reserves the right to suspend public access to the traffic camera images at any time for security purposes.
