April Pools Day

Washington State will be celebrating the 14th Annual April Pools Day on Saturday, April 21, 2007. More than 5 public and private aquatic facilities throughout the state are working together to help families prepare for a safe summer by hosting this free event that offers water safety tips and activities.

Participants of all ages will have the opportunity to learn "hands-on" water safety, in and out of the water: practice wearing and using lifejackets, test your foul weather gear, take a boat ride, practice reaching and throwing rescues, and learn about CPR. Participants can enter a drawing for a free Mustang lifejacket, as well as other prizes.

Don't miss this chance to get ready for fishing and boating season by participating in April Pools Day at your local Seattle Parks and Recreation Department swimming pool or small craft center. Learn and have fun together as a family!

Call individual facilities for specific activities.
