Remaining members of
Public-Private Partnership Review Panel selected
SEATTLE — The remaining members of the city’s new Public-Private Partnership
Review Panel have been selected. The 10 initial panelists (five
chosen by the mayor and five by the City Council) met in late March to select five more
members, per the City Council resolution establishing the panel. The newest panelists will
meet later this week for an orientation to the public-private partnerships review process.
No projects will be reviewed at this meeting. The meeting will be held from 10 to 11 a.m.,
April 19, in room 221 of the Municipal Building (600 Fourth Ave., second floor).
The newest panelists are:
- Rich Feldman
, Director, Worker Center, AFL-CIO
Area of Expertise: labor issues (was member of Public-Private Partnership Task Force)
- Bill Rex
, retired Managing Director of Prudential Securities, Inc.
Area of Expertise: investment banking; current President, Rotary Club of Seattle; board
member Seattle Alliance for Education
- George Staggers
, Executive Director, Central Area Development Association
Area of Expertise: commercial and housing development
- Josephine Tamayo Murray
, Agency Director, Catholic Community Services of King County
Area of Expertise: human services, housing and community economic development; board
member, Seattle Chinatown International District Preservation & Development Authority
- Dinah Thoreson
, Vice President, Community Lending, Washington Mutual Bank
Area of Expertise: community development loan programs, community revitalization projects,
capital projects for nonprofit entities; board member, Mount Baker Housing Association
The panel is part of the city’s new process (called P4) for reviewing
public-private partnerships. P4 panelists will provide expert review of public-benefits
elements of certain public-private partnerships between the city and private or nonprofit
