Public-Private Partnership Review Panel to be briefed on
South Lake Union Redevelopment Project
SEATTLE — Members of the city’s new Public-Private Partnership Review Panel (P4 Panel) will meet next Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2000, for a briefing on the city’s
South Lake Union Redevelopment project. This meeting is the second step in the
Panel’s review of this project. The briefing, presented by members of the city’s
interdepartmental team overseeing the project, provides P4 Panelists an opportunity to ask
questions on the city’s work to date, including the city’s negotiation approach.
The meeting will be held from 2:30 to 3:30 p.m., Sept. 6, 2000, in room 221 of the
Municipal Building (600 Fourth Ave., second floor).
This P4 review will focus on the city’s process for disposal and redevelopment of
surplus city properties in the South Lake Union (SLU) area. The city team will also
discuss the project’s relationship to other city projects in the area, including the
acquisition of the Naval Reserve property, the development of South Lake Union Park, and
transportation improvements in the Mercer/Valley corridor. See the project’s website
for more information: http://www.cityofseattle.net/seattle/esd/slu/slu.htm
The panel is part of the city’s new process for reviewing public-private
partnerships. P4 Panelists will provide expert review of public-benefits elements of
certain public-private partnerships between the city and private or nonprofit entities.
For additional information, see the P4 website (http://www.cityofseattle.net/ppp/).
