| By amending the Seattle City Charter, we clarify certain sections, delete or change certain provisions that have become obsolete or eclipsed by state law, and bring provisions into line with the present needs and expectations of the citizens and officials of Seattle. Proposition 8 removes the process for conducting a City election from the Charter, as it is already governed by state law. This change does not represent a major shift in authority or policy as currently embodied in the Charter. | |
