  Expenditures Reported by Fax
Fax was dated and received October 29, 1999
The fax was on the letterhead of:
The Civic Foundation
800 5th Ave, Suite 101-320
Seattle, WA 98104
Phone: (206) 378-12000
Fax: (206) 378-0539

The fax reported the following:

The Foundation on Oct. 28 wrote a check for $199.77 as an Expenditure to print postcards for the Citywide Election Night Party that is sponsored by the Civic Foundation. This check was made to Alphagraphics, 402 Cedar St., Seattle, WA 98121. The Foundation on Oct. 28 also wrote a check for $371.73 as an Expenditure for Mailing Services and Postage to sort and mail the postcards. The allocation of this Expenditure between Mailing Services and Postage is $38.01 for Mailing Services and $333.72 for Postage. In addition to this fax, the above transactions will be included as per usual in our next C-4 report for this period.

These Expenditures do not benefit any candidate, because the Citywide Election Night Party is open to all candidates and will not promote the candidacy of any since the polls will be closed. However, these Expenditures exceed the $500 threshold during the special reporting period and so we are reporting them within 24 hours.

The Foundation on Oct. 28 received contributions that were above $500. These contributions were from: Jennifer Durkan, 22401 Sweeney Road S.E., Maple Valley, WA 98038, Occupation: Teacher, Employer: Presently Not Working, Amount: $2500.00, Aggregate: $3000.00. Martin Durkan Jr., 22401 Sweeney Road S.E., Maple Valley, WA 98038, Occupation: Consultant, Employer: MDJ Inc., Maple Valley, WA, Amount: $2500.00, Aggregate: $3000.00.

I have determined after reasonable inquiry that the independent expenditures reported herein by the Civic Foundation were made to the best of my knowledge without consultation, collusion, or collaboration with the candidates endorsed by the Foundation, the officers of such candidates, or such candidates' agents.

I declare under penalty of perjury under the laws of the State of Washington that the above is true and correct.

Thanks for your help
