Expenditures Reported by Fax Fax was dated and received by SEEC October 23, 1999 The Fax was on the letterhead of the Civic Foundation: 800 5th Ave, Suite 101-320 Seattle, WA 98104 Phone: (206) 378-12000 Fax: (206) 378-0539 Content of the fax follows: The Civic Foundation on Oct. 22 reported an Obligation for printing to support two candidates rated Outstanding by the Foundation's members. The Foundation today wrote a check for $2150.00 to satisfy this Obligation, converting this into an ordinary Expenditure. The allocation of this Expenditure is as follows: Overnight Printing, Printing benefiting Dawn Mason, $1075.00 Overnight Printing, Printing benefiting Charlie Chong, $1075.00 The Foundation today also incurred an Obligation to pay for name and address labels. The vendor, Labels & Lists, has not yet calculated the actual cost of this Obligation. We estimate the Obligation to be approximately $1000.00, allocated as follows: Labels & Lists, Lists benefiting Dawn Mason, $500.00 Labels & Lists, Lists benefiting Charlie Chong, $500.00 The Foundation today wrote a check for $1,000 to cover this Obligation. When the actual amount is calculated by the vendor, we will report the refund amount or additional amount. As you know, city and state laws require that Obligations be reported when incurred, without waiting until the check is actually written. In addition to this fax, the above transactions will be included as per usual in our next C-4 report for this period. The Civic Foundation supports full disclosure of campaign contribution information. In the spirit of full disclosure, we are reporting this information on Oct. 23 although city and state laws do not require this to be reported until Oct. 25. I have determined after reasonable inquiry that the independent expenditures reported herein by the Civic Foundation were made to the best of my knowledge without consultation, collusion, or collaboration with the candidates endorsed by the Foundation, the officers of such candidates, or such candidates' agents.
