Seattle Needs New Leadership

We need a city government that responds to the people. We need leadership that works toward finding solutions to pressing issues in our community with the community.

I want to be a representative for the people of Seattle. I will work with the people of Seattle for Seattle.

We need to concentrate on the important issues that our city faces. As a community we must find answers to:

Our Transportation problem

The shortage of Affordable Housing

Our shrinking Green space

City Unity

Frivolous spending and tax increases.

It has been four years since the people of Seattle voted to increase our existing monorail system. What has our leadership accomplished? Nothing.

We need to establish and produce a viable alternative to driving within our city. A plan that diminishes ground traffic with an alternative that is accessible to everyone in our city.

We must create guidelines that prevent the loss of affordable housing. The elderly and youth in our community cannot afford to live in our city. We must ensure that new renovation projects maintain or increase the number of low-income housing. We must prevent the loss of housing to people already living in those units.

We need to work with our neighborhoods to mend the ties between our police department and our communities. I will work as a liaison between these groups to develop a mutual respect and understanding. Only together, can we move forward.

I will work within Seattle neighborhoods to establish new parks and expand existing ones. We cannot afford to lose our ties with the environment. We need to protect our existing natural surroundings and implement new laws to increase the green space in our city.

Can we afford to continue to increase city taxes? Do we want to spend millions of taxpayer dollars on unneeded and publicly opposed programs? Do we want leadership that allows and votes to do these things? NO, and I will work to curb government waste and frivolous spending.

I have been a resident of Seattle for 26 years and currently reside on Capitol Hill. I will work hard to carefully weigh each issue presented to the council and attempt to best provide for the future of Seattle. Thank you for the opportunity to represent you and our city, I will not let you down.
