Tom Carr is the best choice for Seattle's next City Attorney.

The City Attorney's office is one of the largest law offices in Seattle with 80 lawyers, 165 total employees and a $13 million annual budget. The City Attorney represents you in all areas from Constitutional law, to environmental law, contracts, personal injury suits, dealing with various city agencies, and prosecuting misdemeanors.

Tom Carr has practiced law for 17 years. He prosecuted organized crime families, taking away their ill-gotten gains. He has handled multi-million dollar personal injury cases, environmental cases, contract cases and cases involving all levels of City, State and Federal Government. He is a partner in the well-respected Seattle law firm, Barrett Gilman & Ziker.

Tom Carr is better qualified. His opponent has practiced law for less than six years with less than two years of civil law experience; has mainly worked in one very specialized area of the law; and has never been a partner or supervisor of lawyers.

Tom Carr stood up as the leader of Seattle's monorail agency, fighting powerful interests at City Hall. He navigated the monorail agency through a difficult period, and helped save the monorail project. His moderate non-confrontational leadership style is just what we need in Seattle.

Tom Carr has the breadth of vision to make the City Attorney's office work for you. He believes the City Attorney should not just prosecute people — it should represent all Seattleites and use mediation and problem solving to find solutions.

Municipal League: "OUTSTANDING"

Seattle P-I: "Tom Carr earns the endorsement of this newspaper for the depth of his legal skills and background, proven ability to lead on contentious issues and dedication to serving the community."

The Seattle Times: "…THE BEST BET IS TOM CARR."

Seattle Weekly: "(Carr) will be a strong leader, capable of managing… and upholding the law."

The Stranger: "Carr has a record of results."

Endorsed: King County Labor Council; King County Democrats; Governor Albert D. Rosellini, County Council Members Greg Nickels, Larry Phillips and Dwight Pelz; former Supreme Court Justice Phil Talmadge; Senator Dow Constantine, Representatives Joe McDermott and Erik Poulsen; former County Council Chair Lois North; Margaret Ceis; Yvonne Sanchez; Helen Johansen and many others.

Tom Carr is the best choice to lead the City Attorney's office and to ensure that it represents you.
