SAFETY COMMITTEE

The goal of the Safety Committee is to create community based solutions to
issues that threaten the safety of our neighborhhod.  This committee attempts
to coordinate the efforts of the neighborhood and provide collaborative
solutions so that individuals are not left to deal with safety issues on their
own.

Through these group efforts, we maximize our efficiency while at the same time de-personalizing and de-escalating potential conflicts by having the CNA act as the voice for the neighborhood.  Furthermore, these collaborative efforts also serve to further the development of relationships between members of the community.

While the Safety Committee is still in its infancy and we are in the midst of bulding the structure, the vision is that the Safety Committee will be the venue where issues can be raised, resources can be provided, and solutions can be discussed.  Then, issues can be forwarded on to the CNA for further action.  The Safety Comittee will begin meeting on a regular basis this fall, the date, time, and
location to be published once established. Meeting minutes are also available on this website.  In the meantime, anyone can contact Halsey Bell (hbell@seattleacademy.org) for further information.
